Does Your Generator Need an Automatic Transfer Switch
What an ATS actually does
It senses the grid supply, starts the generator when the grid fails, and switches the load over to the generator.
When the grid returns, it switches back and shuts the generator down after a cool-down period.
No one has to be on site to start the machine.
When it is worth the money
Anywhere the generator sits idle at night: clinics, telecom sites, cold rooms, hotels.
Sites where the staff cannot be relied on to start a set in the dark.
Where response time matters more than the cost, such as a vaccine cold chain.
When you can skip it
A construction site where someone is always present can use manual start.
A house used only in the evening can use a manual or remote key start.
What to check before ordering
The ATS must match the generator output in kW and in phase (single or three phase), and match your grid voltage and frequency.
Ask for a short changeover time if sensitive equipment is connected.
Our sets can be supplied ATS-ready with the correct control panel wiring.
Need help choosing the right generator power?
Send us your equipment list and site conditions, we will recommend a model.
