How to Choose a Small Diesel Generator for Factory Use

Start from the real load, not the nameplate

  • List every machine you must keep running during an outage, then add their running power together.
  • Add 20%-30% margin for future expansion and inrush current.
  • Motors and compressors draw 3-5 times their rated current at start, so the generator must be sized for the worst starting case.

Match voltage, frequency and phase to your distribution

  • Most industrial sites in Africa use 380V/400V three-phase 50Hz; small shops often need 220V single-phase.
  • Our small diesel generator sets can be configured for 110V / 220V / 380V and 50Hz or 60Hz before shipment.

Decide between silent type and open frame type

  • Silent type: 70-75 dB(A) at 7m, suitable for residential areas, hospitals and hotels.
  • Open frame type: lower price, easier maintenance access, better for construction sites and workshops.

Check fuel type, tank capacity and running hours

  • All our diesel generator sets run on 0# or -10# light diesel oil.
  • A 15 L tank gives about 13-14 hours of continuous running at rated load.

Ask for a quotation with the full configuration

  • Tell us the required power, voltage, frequency, phase and application, and we will reply with price, datasheet and delivery time.
